Album Review: “Delta Spirit’s Self Titled Album” or “Sure, okay.”
Delta Spirit’s self titled, third album was the most anticipated album of the year for me. I discovered this band while volunteering at some sort of mini-festival and was blown away by their sound (and how nice they were). Their first album, Ode to Sunshine, opened my musical tastes to more country-sounding indie acts. Mixing brashness and Americana, I had found a new favorite band. Their sophomore release, History from Below, showed a softer side without losing any edge. Still my favorite band at this point. Their latest release, Delta Spirit, is just an awkward disappointment.
